Our water fun tips
Our top recommendations
In Kessel and the surrounding area there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy all the beauty that Limburg has to offer on or in the water. In bad weather you can also go with children to the tropical swimming pools of the holiday parks in the region: De Schatberg, De Lommerbergen or the Meerdal. All less than 20 minutes by car. Below you will find a few of our choices.
Boat rental Limburg
From the Kesselse loswal you can rent an electric sloop for a wonderful boat trip on the Maas. Make it a wonderful day with your family or friends. Circle around the Maasarm in Neer and discover the nature reserve De Asseltse Plassen.
The sloop is easy to operate for 2 - 6 people. The boat is electric, so quiet and sustainable. You do not need a boating license to rent a boat.
Swimming pool Kessel
From 1 May to 1 September, the open-air swimming pool in the centre of Kessel is open to young and old. There is a separate paddling pool and the youth can also enjoy themselves on the trampolines, bouncy castle, climbing frame, slide or in the sandbox. There is also a beach volleyball court. Ice cream, soft drinks, coffee/tea and small snacks are sold at the cash register.
Active on the Maasplassen in Roermond
Do you like to be active on the water? On the Maasplassen near Roermond you can go to wake park Beaver Creek (suitable for both beginners and experienced wakeboarders), rent a SUP at the Oolderplas or explore the waterways by sailboat, canoe or motorboat.
You can also go to the day beach Palm Beach at the Noorderplas, a quieter part of the Maasplassen and suitable for young and old.
